Most people know Andrew Wakefield as the doctor who said "vaccines cause autism", had his medical license stripped, and who's study was "debunked" a thousand times over - a case series by himself and 12 other scientists/experts in their field.

  Most people have also never read the paper, so here I present to you, the infamous retracted Lancet paper.

  In reading this paper you will see, this series was not about providing and proving a link from the MMR vaccine to autism. The study conducted was on children with gastrointestinal problems who had autism. The controversy comes in when the parents claimed the children regressed after the MMR vaccine. However, Andrew nor did the other scientists, say this was true or confirm this claim. What they did do, was say further investigations regarding that claim would need to be conducted - investigations that were never able to take place.
